Dwight Yoakam, Dale Watson, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Wynn Stewart, Ricky Skaggs, Buck Owens & the Buckaroos, Hank Williams, Chris LeDoux, Bob Wills, Asleep At the Wheel, Allison Kraus, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton, are some that have been inspirational.
The Band
Dale Britton - Lead guitar / Lead/harmony vocals / mandolin / dobro
Dale is the founder of the Doubleback Band and has been performing locally for a number of years. He is most likely known (along with his wife Gini,) as a country dancer turned musician and started with the Honky Tonk Drifters who were one of the hardest working country acts performing throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. He has performed for rodeos, livestock shows, county fairs, festivals, casinos, colleges, corporate events, as well as major concert venues. Additionally, Dale has shared the stage with nationally renowned acts including Merle Haggard and the Strangers, Tab Benoit, Darryl Worley.
Among his influences and favorite styles vary from the infamous Don Rich, to Pete Anderson, Brent Mason, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Hank Thompson, Josh Zee, Dale Watson, and too many other influences to list. The rest of the influences come from all of the local musicians he has danced to over the years and always aspired to be on stage one day.
When Dale is not playing music, his real job is a career Fire Lieutenant and Paramedic (following in Dad's footsteps!) and still enjoys country dancing with his wife Gini, and spending time listening to all of the rest of the great bands here in the area.
Eddie Raye - Bass / keyboards / vocals & harmonies Mike has been playing steel guitar since 1973. He has lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 26 years and has worked with numerous county and country rock bands in the area. Recently, he has been a band member with the Honky Tonk Drifters for over 10 years and has worked in numerous venues spanning from Olympia, Washington to as far as Idaho. Some of his recordings with band members from the Drifters have become very successful in Northern Europe. Mike has backed national and international artists such as Ferlin Husky, Bonnie Guitar, Sheb Wolley and Hank Thompson. He has also opened for artists such as Lacie J. Dahlton, Merle Haggard and Darryl Worley. Mike enjoys playing many different styles of music and his musical influences include The Beatles, various Motown groups, western swing and big band groups of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Mike enjoys playing instrumentals. He has written 4 songs, 2 of which are instrumentals and 2 are vocals which include instrumentals. He enjoys creating music using a digital computer program. This program allows him to create his own musical styles and instrumentals. He integrates these creations, while playing his Steel Guitar and essentially becomes a one man band. Mike is retired a Navy man.
Eddie has played in many bands throughout the area for many years and is a very talented musician and a fun loving guy. Eddie is a retired school teacher and spends most of his time enjoying time with his music, wife, and freinds. He is still trying to sit down long enough to help me with his bio... stay tuned!
